Ultimatums: Another Form of Manipulation?

Friday, March 30th, 2007

A group of friends and I are discussing a number of issues with regard to men and women. One of the topics being discussed are ultimatums and if women use them as a form of manipulation to, for example, pressure a man into marriage.

Having personally experienced such tactics myself, it’s never a wonderful moment. Anyone who attempts to manipulate either party isn’t a healthy person to begin with.

So Many Questions, So Few Answers

Friday, March 30th, 2007

I love late mornings such as these — it’s a great time to read, think and release. My brain has been working overtime with so many thoughts about life. I have to admit that, in this moment, I am deeply confused by the state of our planet and its people. I’ve always tried to make sense of things I didn’t understand, and when I reached the point of frustration, I always told myself that I wouldn’t think about it anymore — ha, yeah, right!

I always find myself going back to the drawing board and recounting all of the things I’ve attempted to make sense of in life: Love, relationships, violence, bigotry, government, religion, etc. I am a very inquisitive guy, so it’s important to me that I understand the details of anything which troubles me. In my mind, there is a solution to every problem, and I won’t rest until I discover and solve it. So, as you might imagine, there are many unresolved problems that I’ve yet to understand in life. And you know what? Sometimes, it’s really unnerving.

I’m really amazed by how we allowed ourselves to evolve to this current day. So many things are out of place and simply do not fit. Was this evolution’s plan, or man’s? The answers continue to elude me. I am just baffled by everything. Wow.

Just One Of Those Evenings …

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

I’m having one of those evenings where I’m uninspired, lazy, and just feeling shitty. Times like these are best addressed by a nap, a nice drink, good laugh, or inner inspiration. A nap sounds enticing, but I’m not interested; A drink sounds nice, but I’m not feeling that; Inner inspiration or a good laugh are the final solutions.

I think I’ll visit a friend and have a few laughs. I’ve been indoors all day chasing “the wave of opportunity”, and these moments are natural — so fresh air, a nice walk, and a good laugh sounds like a sure bet.

An All-Out ‘Pigfest’

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

This past Sunday, I was invited by a friend to a cookout at his Sister’s place. His Brother-In-Law’s daughters were in town (both are, ironically, married to pro athletes) and everyone decided to have a gathering in their honor.

Considering that I’m currently on a restricted diet (I’ve lost about 15 lbs so far), I nearly gorged myself with food — well, not really. Now that I think about it, I only had two and a half pieces of fish, three slices of bread, one cupcake and a beverage …

Okay, you got me! I ate again later in the evening, and only because my Grandmother sent some dinner she prepared earlier in the day — and, yes, it was delicious! It was worth being stuffed, but oh man, the day after!!!

While I don’t think I’ve gained any weight, if I did, it would be miniscule — maybe under a pound. Regardless, I’m still on track (I think) to hit 170 lbs by early June (I’m 190 currently). Why the weight loss? Well, I got lazy over the last few years, and gained about 35 lbs after losing some 75 lbs as a senior in high school. I kinda miss being ‘lean and mean’, not that I can complain now, but it’s just silly to carry any extra weight.

Guy Defends Himself Against Women Gone Wild

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Direct to you from Nottingham, England, here’s a YouTube video of a man being attacked by a viscious group of women — apparently, one of the women picked a fight with the man, and it escalated to a brawl.

And you thought UK women behaved better than their American counterparts? Please.

Let’s Get Unplugged, Baby!

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Well, here’s unplugged! After much thinking and feedback, I’ve decided to create “unplugged” to have a place to really “let loose”. This will be a more laxed place for my most intimate thoughts, rants, ramblings, and other stuff. I’ll keep the “professional” stuff on Ronald Lewis Dot Com, where I’ll geek out, stuff like that.

The reality is that Ronald Lewis Dot Com is like the front door to my world, and I want my best stuff to be seen first, and then for those who are interested, they can explore other areas of my domain beyond the front door and living room. Makes sense? I hope so.

In addition, this is also a place to visit to see what I’m doing in real-time — such as the music I’m listening to, etc. In the future, there will be live web cams and all kinds of cool stuff. So, when you want to escape all of my geekin’ on Ronald Lewis Dot Com, you can escape here to my “underground”.

So, go ahead and add Unplugged to your favorite RSS reader in addition to Ronald Lewis Dot Com!

See ya!
